A surprising area! Schouwen Duiveland is a very varied region characterized by tranquility on the one hand and a variety of activities on the other. Come and discover it and you will see that we are right!

Natural beauty: With extensive beaches, dense forests and the famous Oosterschelde National Park, Schouwen-Duiveland offers a breathtaking landscape. Historic villages such as Zierikzee, with its old harbor and monuments, or the picturesque Brouwershaven await your discovery. Experience the typical Zeeland culture, from eating mussels and oysters to the unique dialects and traditions.

Schouwen Duiveland is an ideal walking and cycling region. You can walk in all directions. The nature reserves Kop van Schouwen, the Brouwersdam and Tureluur are about 15 minutes away by car. In addition to the unmistakable nature, Schouwen Duiveland offers fantastic cycling routes through the farm landscape or along the beautiful villages. The towns of Zierikzee, Renesse and Brouwershaven are also easily accessible by bicycle.

On the Brouwersdam it is possible to practice all kinds of water sports, such as surfing, kite surfing and sailing. A visit to the beach is of course a requirement. The clean, wide sandy beaches are wonderful for sunbathing and swimming in the sea. Relaxation at its best!

Town and village
In the immediate vicinity of Elkerzee are the cities of Zierikzee (10 km), Renesse (10 km) and Bruinisse (15 km). These bustling towns are definitely worth a visit. The tourist world port city of Rotterdam is also worth a visit (45 minutes by car).

Events
On the island of Schouwen Duiveland and especially on the adjacent Brouwersdam, there is a huge range of events in the summer. In February there is the famous Strôa in the surrounding villages, the harbor festival in Zierikzee, the many markets in the surrounding villages and the music festival Concert at Sea (CAS). There really is always something to do in the area. During the summer season the many village festivals are worth recommending.

Restaurants and pubs
The area is packed with fantastic gastronomy. Literally something for everyone in this environment. From cozy beach bars to refined restaurants in Zierikzee and Bruinisse.
